AACHC Program Overview

Community Development Program

The Community Development Program focuses on helping Arizona communities ensure primary health care access for everyone and assists communities in the development of new primary care access points, or clinics, to serve medically uninsured and underserved populations throughout Arizona. AACHC currently provides technical assistance to medically underserved communities and is available to assist any Arizona community working to increase health care access or eliminate health disparities.

The program includes development of the Statewide Strategic Planning (SSP) Project, a database of demographic and health information which is used to develop and refine the long-term statewide Community Health Center growth plan for Arizona. The SSP is utilized to guide the expansion of new sites, satellite locations, and services of established Community Health Centers (CHC's).
