Mountain Park Health Center works with the communities that it serves to sustain and improve health by providing affordable primary care. We are a federally qualified community health center with 5 clinical locations throughout the valley. The General Dentist position is full time with rotating Saturday hours. The position has a competitive salary with an excellent benefits package. Full Time Providers receive 5 weeks of time off and 7 paid holiday per year. All Health Related benefits start the first of month following date of hire. The company pays 90% of the medical and dental premiums for the employee and 50% of the premiums for dependents.

JOB SUMMARY

Provide high quality dental care to patients in a quality oriented, efficient, and cost effective manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Performs and records patient histories appropriate for evaluation of presenting complaints or conditions.
  2. Performs and records oral examinations appropriate for evaluation of presenting complaints and conditions.
  3. Appropriately diagnoses patients based on available subjective and objective data.
  4. Determines and records treatment plans appropriate for the diagnosis.
  5. Provides and records appropriate patient education regarding the diagnoses and treatments.
  6. Orders laboratory tests appropriate for evaluation of presenting complaints and conditions.
  7. Orders appropriate radiographs for evaluation of presenting complaints and conditions.
  8. Appropriately refers patients for specialty care.
  9. Prescribes medications appropriate for the diagnosis.
  10. Attempts to perform appropriate preventive health screening.
  11. Provides and documents appropriate post-op instructions.
  12. Performs and records dental procedures in accordance with Mountain Park Health Center Clinical Practice Guidelines.
  13. Ensures that contributory behavioral health issues are addressed either by clinical or behavioral health staff.
  14. Performs and records appropriate pain assessments when presenting complaints or conditions warrant.
  15. Documents clinical encounters adequately to allow other clinicians to easily assume care of patients.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Treats patients with dignity and respect.
  • Interacts as a team member with all levels of clinical staff.
  • Cooperates with efforts to improve the operation of the clinic.
  • Makes every effort to achieve agreed upon productivity targets.
  • Codes encounter appropriately and passes periodic coding audits.
  • Contributes to the training and proficiencies of clinical personnel, including residents and dental students.

  • QUALIFICATIONS

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
    Graduate of an accredited Dental School and general dentistry residency and two years of experience preferred.

    Three to five years of experience in a general dentistry practice, public health experience preferred.

    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
    Current Arizona License, DEA Certificate, and CPR Certification.

    The Medical Director/Physician of the Community Health Center - Desert Mission: John C. Lincoln

    The Medical Director/Physician provides primary care, supervises, and monitors clinical competencies and care provided by Practitioners in our Desert Mission Community Health Center. The Community Health Center mission is to provide primary health care to children and their parents/caregivers who have no place else to turn for health care. Health care is provided to low-income families who have no health insurance or may be enrolled in AHCCCS or the KidsCare program. The Community Health Center maximizes our patients' opportunity for prevention and early detection of diseases, health education and continuity of care. Through our services, we also establish a medical home for uninsured families.

    Responsibilities: The Medical Director monitors development and implementation of medical programs in the health center and provides ongoing evaluation of community and client needs to maintain optimum effectiveness. The Medical Director performs primary care to clients at the health center. S/he develops and presents educational programs aimed at medical staff, and the population in the Lincoln service area; and works collaboratively with other providers. S/he is responsible for the direct supervision of paid and volunteer clinical staff. S/he assists in obtaining the services of qualified professionals in the areas of medical sub-specialties. S/he is responsible for the implementation and periodic evaluation of CQI plan for medical care. EOE

    • This is a part-time position working 24-32 hours/week.
    • Clinic hours are 8am-5pm Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri and 8am- 7pm Weds.

    Qualifications:

    • Graduation from an accredited medical school.
    • 1-2 years experience as Medical Director
    • Professional clinical experience in family or general practice including adult and pediatric acute and chronic primary care and emergency care.
    • Medical Physician Licensure/Registration; Arizona Medical Doctor License in good standing; current Arizona DEA License in good standing; Current Board Certification by AOA in Family Practice

    • Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred
