Primary Purpose

This position will support the Oral Health Program Manager in coordinating the Arizona Oral Health Coalition, working with AACHC Dental Peer Networking group, Community Health Center (CHC) training and technical assistance, and promotion of oral health integration within CHCs and other interested parties.  The position is grant-funded and full-time (40 hours per week). Potential for continued employment will be based on availability of funds.


Essential Functions

  1. Support the Oral Health Program Manager in the development of the Arizona Oral Health Coalition to include development of coalition agenda, coordination of monthly meetings and other activities to include participation and facilitation of related workgroups.
  2. Develop and distribute resource materials, including meeting announcements, fact sheets, website content and other educational resources.
  3. Promotes and/or provides targeted training and technical assistance opportunities to various levels of health center staff, including medical and dental providers, and conducts follow-up assessment and evaluation activities.
  4. Engages CHCs, stakeholders, and partners by providing information on existing resources and available training and collaboration opportunities.
  5. Works with CHCs to understand their oral health services and identifies challenges in the integration of oral health and primary care services.
  6. Develops resources to assist CHCs in making operational improvements with relation to oral health integration.
  7. Share resources with the CHCs dental programs on promotion and education of patients and best practice preventive efforts.
  8. Assists in coordinating oral health components for various meetings AACHC conducts each year to include: AACHC’s Annual Meeting, Region IX Leadership Conference, Invaluable Medic and Dental Assistant Seminar, and other relevant meetings/trainings, by identifying appropriate oral health topics/presentations and securing subject matter experts to present.
  9. Assists in identifying strategies that will be taken by AACHC or its partners to address oral health safety net workforce challenges.
  10. Other responsibilities as assigned.

  5. Flexibility to travel regularly in state and out-of-state for meetings, trainings, etc.


Required Technology Experience:

  1. Demonstrated ability to use intermediate functions and features of the MSOffice suite including word processing, spreadsheet, presentation and database applications.
  2. Proficient with desktop publishing design programs, example: Adobe InDesign.
  3. Website development and maintenance using WordPress.
  4. Experience with project management software; Basecamp and/or Socious a plus.



  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Health Education, or closely related field with knowledge of project management OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
  2. Must have at least 1 year previous experience or academic preparation in public programs; preferably involving oral health access; successful community coalition building; experience working on grant funded projects.
  3. Preferred but not required experience; RDH


Certificates and Licenses:

Must have valid Arizona Driver’s license, own private reliable transportation, and have current automotive insurance as required by state law.


Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. This position requires sitting for extended periods of time. Occasionally requires standing, squatting, reaching and bending. Requires ability to receive information through oral communication both in-person and on telephone. Manual dexterity needed for using computer keyboard. Must have adequate vision to operate computer and complete paperwork. Regularly required to operate a motor vehicle to attend program functions or drive to member or partner meetings.


Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment.  The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as assigned work station, computer, phone, copier and file cabinet.
