Student/Resident Experiences and Rotations in Community Health (SEARCH)

SEARCH LogoThe Arizona Alliance for Community Health Centers offers a limited number of opportunities through our SEARCH Program (Student/Resident Experiences And Rotations in Community Health) for students and residents to experience medicine in an underserved primary care setting. It provides learners from across the nation access to high quality learning experiences in Arizona’s health centers and safety net providers serving diverse populations in urban and rural areas, with innovative models of primary care, including the patient-centered medical home model and multidisciplinary care teams.

Our training sites can be found throughout the state and offer placements for the following primary care disciplines:

  • Physicians
  • Physician Assistants
  • Nurse Practitioners
  • Dentists
  • Dental Hygienists
  • Psychiatry/Mental Health

Our placements provide students and residents the opportunity to:

  • Train in culturally/socioeconomically diverse communities
  • Work with patients and communities to help them reach beneficial health decisions
  • Learn about culturally competent, community-responsive health care
  • Gain skills and learn about local resources by working with community mentors

We work with training sites to offer the following benefits:

  • Identify possible candidates for future employment.
  • Completion of a community-based project by participants to benefit the site and the community.
