The Medicare FQHC cost report is a document that is often confusing for, and misunderstood by, health center management teams. This session will help participants gain a better understanding of the Medicare FQHC cost reporting process, including a discussion of the interrelationship of the Medicare cost report with a health center’s obligation to enhance revenues in accordance with the Bureau of Primary Health Care’s Health Center Program Requirements.
In addition, this session will include discussion of the transition to the Medicare FQHC Prospective Payment System (PPS) effective for cost reporting periods beginning on or after October 1, 2014. Given this payment system transition, it is important for health center management teams to evaluate what changes, if any, are necessary to maintain and/or increase historical Medicare FQHC revenues.
If time permits, this session will also include a discussion of the basics of Medicare Advantage Plan participation, including actions necessary to achieve appropriate and accurate reimbursement for such Medicare managed care plan services.
Topics covered during this training session will include:
Session participants are encouraged to bring a copy of their health center’s most recent Medicare FQHC cost report for reference during this training program. In addition, session participants are encouraged to bring questions and issues for discussion.
