Dr. David Katz of the Advisory Board Company presents on transforming care delivery to value-based and high performing medical groups/health centers.

10:30 – 11:30        Plans for the Retreat and Application of Dr. Katz Presentation

– Debrief and discussion of the Future of Care Management
– Reconnecting with colleagues
– Principles for strategic thinking as a board
11:30 – 12:30        Positioning as a Provider of Choice
How will your organization retain existing patients and attract new ones in a post-reform market? The group will consider key factors that influence how individuals choose their primary care provider and what strategies this suggests. Large group discussion.
12:30 – 1:30          Networking Lunch

1:30 – 3:00            Shifts Impacting Health Centers and Primary Care Associations

Building on the knowledge of board members, AACHC staff, and facilitator, Jessica Hartung, the group will discuss the national perspective on changes and trends, and potential scenarios and how it impacts state and local strategic planning. Discussion will also include differences in impact between rural and urban environments. Large group and small group discussions.
 
3:00 – 4:30            Planning for and Shaping the Future
Small group working sessions on preparing for the changes and scenarios discussed. Reflect with colleagues on the impact of these changes for your organization and AACHC’s strategic plan.
4:30 – 5:00            Wrap-Up, Conclusions and Preview of Day 2

5:00 – 6:00            Break

6:00 – 8:00            Social Dinner

 

Additional breaks will be taken at natural stopping points in the conversation.

What aspects of leadership are most important to develop as we prepare for the future? Jessica Hartung will lead a discussion of best practices in developing leaders inside individual organizations as well as strategies for development across multiple organizations, including succession planning, professional development, and mentoring.
10:30 – 12:00        Review of Current Strategic Plan
Review and revise current strategic plan to reflect updates and new insights.
12:00 – 12:45        Working Lunch: Recommendations for Strategic Plan Revisions      
    
12:45 – 1:00          Conclusions and Retreat Evaluation
