Course Description: Medicare Cost Reporting for Federally Qualified Health Centers

The Medicare FQHC cost report is a document that is oftentimes confusing for, and misunderstood by, health center management teams.  This session will help participants gain a better understanding of the Medicare FQHC cost reporting process, including a discussion of the interrelationship of the Medicare cost report with a health center’s obligation to enhance revenues in accordance with the Bureau of Primary Health Care Key Health Center Program Requirements.  Topics covered during this session will include: 


  •  An overview of Medicare reimbursement for health centers, including Medicare covered FQHC services and Medicare covered services outside of the scope of FQHC services

  • Understanding the Medicare cost report – a overview of cost report worksheets and cost report information flow
  • Medicare FQHC settlement process
  • Transition to the Medicare FQHC Prospective Payment System
  • Other issues of importance related to the Medicare cost reporting process
