Community Health Centers

Where can students go for rotations?

In Arizona there are many community health centers available for the public to receive access to quality healthcare. A majority of the clinical facilities that participate in the SEARCH program are Federally Qualified Health Centers. This means they meet the standards to serve the needs of many underserved communities. Underserved communities do not just indicate low-income, but rather inability to access healthcare. Rural areas, Indian Reservations, and geographically isolated towns/cities are just some of the examples of other underserved characteristics.

Community health centers have a variety of care available to their clients. Community health centers offer primary care services and encompasses an array of other services on-site or through referrals. Services provided by community health centers include:

  • Family Practice
  • Pediatrics
  • Internal Medicine
  • OB/GYN
  • Dental
  • Lab Services
  • Pharmacy
  • Health Education Programs
  • Mental Health
  • Immunizations
  • Eyes and Vision
